The apartment: 30 m² open-plan studio, kitchenette, washer-dryer, bathtub

SLL Urban Suites Akasaka is a single 30 m² twin room on the fourth floor of Camomile Akasaka (2-7-3 Akasaka, Minato-ku), with an elevator and smart-lock self check-in. Two semi-double beds and one sofa bed sleep up to 3 guests. There is a kitchenette, a washer-dryer, a bathtub, a bidet toilet and a Nespresso machine — enough to live normally for a week rather than camp in a hotel room.

Business trip or family trip — who is Akasaka for?

For business travelers, the appeal is the commute: Tokyo Station, Ginza, Roppongi and Shibuya are all a short ride, and the washer-dryer plus coffee machine make a multi-night stay simple. For a couple or a family of three, the same location works for sightseeing — Ginza and Asakusa without transfers, Tokyo Tower via Roppongi — with a bathtub and a kitchenette to come back to. Groups of four or more should look at SLL Urban Suites Ebisu or Shibuya instead.

Convenience stores, a supermarket and where to eat

A 7-Eleven is within about 3 minutes on foot; a Lawson, a Maibasket supermarket and a Matsumoto Kiyoshi drugstore are within about 5. One thing to know: Akasaka is a business district, so many popular restaurants close on Sundays and holidays. Close to the building you will find a well-known tonkatsu restaurant about 2 minutes away (closed Sundays and holidays), a 24-hour Korean seolleongtang restaurant about 5 minutes away, and a bagel café open from 8:00 including weekends. The house guide lists them with maps.
